- Assisting with the selection, procurement, and installation of hardware for industrial automation equipment and instrumentation systems.
- Design PLC control panels, networks, field junction boxes, and other control system hardware components.
- Assist with the development and implementation of control system narratives.
- Assist with the development of Piping and Instrument Diagrams and ensure adherence to ISA standards for the process industry.
- Develop PLC programming software and HMI operating screens for LNG peak-shaving plants. Under the supervision of more experienced personnel, travel to client sites to deploy, debug, and test control system software during commissioning.
- Utilize various electrical and controls test equipment such as Fluke process meters, HART Communicators, etc., to assess control system equipment and diagnose faults.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplined team of project managers, engineers, designers, technicians, purchasers, and other internal staff.
- Regularly interface with clients, suppliers, and third-party subcontractors.
- Understanding and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
- Travel is expected to be 25% or less but varies each year depending on site commissioning activities. Travel in continental US only.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with PLC functions and integrated controls equipment.
- Ability to set priorities, to be self-disciplined, and consistent.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively individually or within a multi-disciplined project group.
- Computer literacy in MS Office and general computer use is a must.
- Experience with AutoCAD (preferably AutoCAD Electrical) is a plus.
- Completion of at least two years of post-secondary education, formal training in electrical theory, industrial controls, and a minimum of two-to-four years’ industrial experience.
- Hands-on experience designing, programming, installing, debugging, and maintaining PLC-based control systems is preferred.
- Experience with Allen Bradley ControlLogix (or equivalent) systems is a plus.
