Job Description:Starting Pay Rate: Per Adjunct Faculty Pay ScaleSchedule Information: Days/evenings in person, depending upon course schedule***This posting will be used to obtain a pool of qualified candidates for the above subjects. As teaching needs arise, these applications will be reviewed for possible interviews***The number of adjunct instructors hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department.   • Teaching basic acting for the stage.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Theatre in selection of textbooks, audiovisual, and other instructional materials.
  • Maintain expertise in current teaching methods, discipline knowledge, and discipline specific technologies.
  • Complete various reporting procedures as required for student evaluation and course reporting.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Education Requirements: Master's degree in Drama, Theatre, or related or any Master's degree with 18 graduate semester credits in one of the disciplines.Experience Requirements:
  • Experience in teaching post secondary courses in drama/theater arts/performance.
  • Professional theatrical experience as an actor, director, or similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies and techniques to different levels of students' ability and learning styles.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies and techniques to students from different cultures and ethnic groups.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working with populations having diverse values, and/or coming from varied cultures and backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated leadership, ability, and desire to stay current in the field.
