ParalegalJob Summary:The Paralegal will play a vital role in supporting our legal team by providing clerical and research assistance, focusing on land use and licensing matters. This includes analyzing legislation and regulations on local and state issues, investigating facts, preparing legal documents, and researching legal and local land use and licensing precedent. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional research, analytical, and communication skills.Essential Job Functions:- Knowledge of local development code, especially for Southern Nevada jurisdictions such as Clark County, City of Henderson, City of Las Vegas, and City of North Las Vegas.- Prepare reports, legal correspondence, and other documents.- Organize and maintain documents in both paper and electronic filing systems.- Investigate facts and laws related to cases, utilizing public records and internet sources.- Assist in responding to inquiries from regulators and other governmental agencies.- Gather and analyze research data, including statutes, decisions, legal articles, codes, and documents.- Track and analyze local and state law and regulatory activities.- Manage confidential information with tact and good judgment.- Maintain regular attendance in the office.- Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:- Three years of full-time experience in legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal work, or in local government.- Associate degree in Legal Studies or a related field preferred.- Any combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may be considered.Abilities:- Excellent time management and organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.- Clear and concise communication skills, both orally and in writing.- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.- Analytical and problem-solving skills.- Ability to thrive in a high-paced and potentially stressful environment.- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.- Ability to gather and analyze facts, offering solutions to problems.- Prepare clear and concise reports with a high level of accuracy, completeness, and legal compliance.- Work effectively independently or in a team environment, maintaining a cooperative working relationship with others.- Prioritize, research, and plan effectively.- Correctly interpret, explain, and apply policies and procedures, following oral and written instructions.How to Apply:Interested candidates should submit their resume, cover letter, and any relevant certifications to this job posting, or directly to blake.rossi@gogpac.com.
