- Busy Orthopedic Clinic that works with all ages of patients
- Will work side by side with a Provider in providing excellent patient care
- Will see patients with all degrees of Orthopedic needs -- sports related, injury, surgical, maintenance, etc
- Will be taught how to remove staples/sutures and how to cast/splint
- Will assist Providers in setting up joint injections, rooming patients, vital signs, dressing changes, fitting for medical equipment, concussion testing, compartment testing, amongst a host of other skills.Summary Responsible for evaluating and monitoring clinic patients as an athletic trainer within an orthopedic patient focus. Will participate in the implementation of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician when applicable. Evaluates injuries, physical conditions, and needs; recommending a scientific care plan to include schedule, treatment programs, and related education based on their capabilities and limitations.Job DescriptionEnsures the health, comfort and safety of patients. Documents and interpretes appropriate information gathered from a variety of sources, including the medical record, physician, and family. Utilize appropriate testing/evaluation techniques to assess injuries. Contributes to the assessment of patients and administers treatments as ordered which may include, casting, splinting, bracing and provide education to patient on proper fit and use. Observe patients, document and report changes in patient condition, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and take any necessary action.Counsels patients and family members on prevention and treatment plans as directed. Explains and updates safety rules governing daily training, recreational activities, and the use of professional exercise equipment as needed for patient care.
