- The group is seeking to add an EHS professional who, under minimal supervision, performs basic and routine duties in a wide range of environmental disciplines to aid in maintaining compliance with internal EHS standards and, federal and state regulatory requirements.
- This position will supplement the existing EHS professionals in providing these services to business partners while receiving on the job experience and mentoring in the environmental, health and safety field.
- Prepares and submits appropriate environmental documents, plans, and reports, as required by various internal, local, state and federal agencies
- Ensure waste types are properly segregated, regulatory shipment windows are met, proper container labeling is adhered to, good housekeeping is maintained and accurate tracking logs are kept.
- Identify best practices that assist in reducing waste volumes, water usage, energy usage, increasing operational efficiencies and generating cost savings.
- Manage Community Right-to-Know (EPCRA) efforts – inventory tracking, annual report, submittal to local agencies, participation with LEPC
- Manage Air Quality Permitting efforts – assist with general permit conditions (boilers, generator), assist with preconstruction permit conditions, assist with management of change to ensure permits are up-to-date, assist with refrigerant requirements (leak rate calculations, certifications for employees/contractors working on equipment)
- Manage Wastewater Permitting efforts – complying with permit conditions of RVSA wastewater permit, coordinating of testing, submittal of necessary reports/notifications
- Manage Emergency Response efforts– maintaining up-to-date One Plan (RCRA contingency plan, OSHA emergency response plan/emergency action plan, OSHA fire prevention plan), RCRA Quick Reference Guide, providing plans to local agencies, making arraignments with local agencies, spill/release reporting
- Manage Stormwater efforts– compliance with no exposure requirements (auditing), submittal of 5 year update
- Manage Transportation efforts– Ensuring compliance with hazardous material/dangerous goods transportation regulations and local shipping policy
- A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational safety, health, biological, chemical or a closely related discipline.
- In depth knowledge of federal, state and local regulations regarding air, land, water, and regulated waste environmental compliance
- RCRA/DOT/IATA/IMDG certification
- 5-8 yrs of EHS experience
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (written/oral), and organizational skills required.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Computer proficiency and aptitude for technology.
- Must be able to work effectively in a matrix organization that provides services to multiple business partners.
