Senior Lead HVAC & Plumbing Engineer V - GVL

- Provide technical design packages within defined schedule and budget requirements.
- Executes facility mechanical engineering HVAC designs according to IAW applicable codes and standards.
- Ability to meet with clients, present for HVAC on progress of work, design options and 3D model reviews.
- Performs field energy audits; Model facilities' energy use to support equipment change out and selection.
- Performs facility system assessment field work.
- Generates workload plans, design analyses, drawing plans, specifications, HVAC load/ventilation calculations, pump calculations, cost estimates and estimated construction schedule.
- Supports proposals generation (FEL1 thru 3, Detailed Design)
- Significant CAD work with AutoCAD and Revit
- Reviews work of and provides guidance to junior engineers.
- Review equipment and material submittals for adequacy and compliance with contractual documents.
- Performs site visits when required and assists with construction RFI's after document issuance for construction.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited school.
- Professional Engineering license or registration is required. Candidates with multiple state registrations will be given preferred consideration.
- Minimum 15 years of facility HVAC and plumbing design experience
- Working experience producing drawing packages with Autodesk Revit.
- Working knowledge and experience performing energy modeling.
- Working knowledge and experience with the latest releases of software:
- Revit
- AutoCAD
- Navisworks
- BIM 360
- Bluebeam Revu
- Microsoft Office Applications
- Microsoft Teams
- Specifications writing experience - SpecLink Cloud is preferred.
- Knowledgeable with Codes and industry standards (ex. NFPA, International Codes, Factory Mutual Datasheets, ASHRAE, etc.)
- Able to write design analyses, specifications, estimate project costs, and estimate construction schedule duration.
- Commissioning and/or retro-commissioning experience
- Life cycle costing
- Able to travel by air and ground, able to climb ladders.
- Authorization to work lawfully in the USA without sponsorship from Wood is required.
