- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required
- 5 years of electrical engineering experience in an industrial operation preferred
- Proven reliability improvement results with a history of continuous improvement
- Solid communication and leadership skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Pulp and paper mill experience highly preferred with demonstrated strength in drives, PLC, HMIs (Panelview), and process control applications
- Strong project management skills desired
- Support completion of electrical capital projects.
- Assist in designing electrical systems/equipment to provide a safe workplace and to support a predictive-based maintenance environment.
- Develop maintenance procedures for electrical systems/equipment to ensure maximum service life and utilization.
- Advise paper mill operations personnel about systems/requirements available to meet needs and comply with safety codes. Monitor installation of designed equipment and systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety codes.
- Respond to requests for system or equipment modifications or enhancements to achieve desired results in a safe and cost-effective manner.
- Consult with maintenance personnel on existing systems, equipment, and practices and use possible alternatives to meet needs.
- Participate in rotating weekend duty to provide operational support on weekends and holidays.
- Provide backup support for other paper mill electrical engineers.
- Review electrical designs and specifications being purchased or fabricated and electrical estimates for equipment and construction.
- Provide requested services while meeting safety codes, specifications and budget parameters.
- Ensure new and existing systems are compatible and will not cause electrical overload.
- Support Maintenance Department efforts and help troubleshoot problems.
- Provide leadership in developing hourly E&I crafts in the pulp mill.
