- Provide exceptional customer service to all hotel guests, making their stay as comfortable and accommodating as possible while achieving team and brand goals.
- Supervise the housekeeping staff; providing open communication, training, coaching and counseling and providing performance feedback to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Supervise and inspect the cleaning of the guest rooms, public areas and back of the house; ensure compliance with accident/loss prevention programs, health/ sanitation standards and regulations to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
- Issue assignments to staff reviewing special requests and areas of concentration to ensure a smooth flow of the housekeeping operation.
- Issue supplies/goods to staff at beginning of shift in order to control inventory and ensure proper supplies are available while controlling expenses.
- Respond to guest requests, concerns and problems to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Log items into the Lost and Found and answer inquires to maintain controls and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Follow emergency procedures to ensure appropriate protection of the hotel, guests, staff and company assets.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
- High school degree or GED preferred.
- Six (6) months to one (1) year hotel housekeeping experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
- Ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop and reach to assist other staff members (i.e., room attendants, housepersons to complete their individual tasks if situation demands with or without reasonable accommodation).
- Able to complete a heavy workload and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Good judgement and decision making abilities.
- Ability to work day shifts, holidays, Monday through Friday, night shifts and weekends.
- Must pass and remain in compliance with drug free workplace policies.
- Must be able to spend 100% of working time standing, walking and reaching.
- Pushing, pulling and lifting objects from a lower to higher position or moving objects horizontally, from position to position.
- Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching in narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
- Climbing and ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.
- Must be able to carry loads greater than 40 pounds and exert up to 60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
- Hearing sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
