- Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
- Use diagnostic equipment, visual inspection, and other tools to diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
- Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure accurate performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications
- Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings as necessary in order to accurately operate equipment
- Install new ignition systems, change/charge batteries, and replace transmissions and other parts
- Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and equipment, and makes adjustments
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles
- Fabricate special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawings
- Maintain clean tools and working area
- Perform high and low voltage electrical trouble shooting and repairs
- Perform other routine duties such as building maintenance, equipment hauling, and equipment operation
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Certificate in Diesel Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- ASE Certification preferred
- Valid driver's license; required to maintain acceptable driving record
- DOT Medical Examiner Certificate and/or ability to obtain required
- Commercial Drivers' License (CDL) preferred
- 3 or more years of experience as a diesel/heavy equipment mechanic preferred
- Experience performing U.S. DOT vehicle and brake inspections and adjustments preferred
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- Basic computer skill, including ability to operate mobile device (phone, tablet, etc.) and related applications
- Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Must maintain and provide basic tooling required for position; specialty tooling provided by the Company
- Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
- Regularly required to use hands to feel, handle and manipulate objects, write, use a keyboard and/or mobile devices
- Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear), and perform tasks requiring visual acuity
- Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Standing/working on feet for long periods (8 hours or more), and walking across uneven terrain
- Frequently exposed to loud noise produced by machinery and equipment
- Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions
- Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes, chemicals, or airborne particles
