Theatre Production Lead

- Recruits and hires production staff and contract labor and to ensure complete training while following all City of Fort Wayne guidelines;
- Adheres to the budget and tracks the financial aspects of department;
- Creates and maintains inventory and maintenance log;
- Creates daily/weekly show staffing schedule to present weekly
- Schedules appropriate number of staff while maintaining labor costs;
- Facilitates proper interdepartmental communication and organization;
- Manages Union IATSE stage, sound, video, and lighting crews;
- Responsible for the technical advance of a local and touring house shows;
- Oversees maintenance of audio, lighting, backline, video systems advising on repairs when needed;
- Responsible for safe and consistent operation of all equipment;
- Advises on design of site audio, video, and lighting systems;
- Maintains a detailed and thorough filing system of all “past show” files on a venue shared drive;
- Act as an operator for production in area of incumbent's specialty, as needed.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a related field preferred;
- Five (5) or more years' experience in a production leadership capacity working with a large performing arts organization;
- Proven track record of outstanding customer service and leadership skills to guarantee that the entire team is dedicated to ensuring that each and every guest experience at the Theatre is an exceptional one;
- Excellent oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours, based on the needs of daily business operations;
- Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple situations in a fast paced environment;
- Understands complex, varied non-standardized tasks, processes, or operations;
- Applies routine practices, rules, regulations, procedures, or techniques that are relevant to assigned tasks;
- Communicates efficiently and effectively while training various skills;
- Ability to establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with departmental managers and operating staff.
