POSITION: Senior Mining Engineer (10+ YRS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED)
PAY RATE: $120,000-$150,000 per year with benefits
WORK HOURS: Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm

Forte Dynamics is a consulting and engineering firm that specializes in mineral resource and reserve estimation, mine planning, blasting analysis, metallurgy, process design, recovery modeling, basic and detailed engineering, and construction management services.Forte is currently seeking a full-time Mine Planning Engineer. Top qualities include emphasis on safety, quality, timeliness, resilience, and resourcefulness. The position will center on underground design, planning, and cost estimation. Open pit experience will be an added value. Knowledge of a mining software system and AutoCAD (or similar software) is required. Second language is a plus, especially Spanish.Benefits:

Responsibilities:
  • Pro-active safety focus
  • Strategic design and mine planning for:
  • underground
  • open pit
  • Design of underground mine development, blasting systems, ventilation systems, ground support systems, production stopes, and haulage systems
  • Creation of engineering and geologic drawings for reports
  • Cost estimation and economic (DCF) modeling
  • Resources and reserve reporting for gold, silver, copper, and other precious metal mines
  • Flexibility in supporting both engineering and geologic aspects of projects
  • Teamwork with geologists, metallurgists, and other disciplines
  • Prepare operations and project estimates, schedules, and reports.
  • Engineering trade-off studies including:
  • mine development alternatives
  • design of underground mining operations,
  • mine access,
  • ventilation systems,
  • mine services,
  • haulage and conveying methods
  • Business development for growth of the mining business
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining or Geological Engineering. Advanced degree or Professional Engineering (PE) Certification preferred
  • 10 or more years mining engineering experience, including experience in underground mining
  • Well qualified with 3D Mine Modeling software (Vulcan, Deswik, MineSight, etc.)
  • Advanced excel spreadsheet skills is also a requirement in this role
  • Experience in both short term and long term mine planning.
  • Sound technical skills in underground mining. Operational experience will be an advantage
  • Proficient in mine design, mine planning, scheduling and budgeting. Strategic mine design skills are an advantage
  • Able to research and analyze complex information
  • Skilled in managing large/complex projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Qualifications as a Qualified Person (QP)
  • Second language Spanish preferred
