Working at Integer means you are part of a team passionately pursuing excellence in all that we do and always reaching for the next great achievement.What you’ll do in this role:The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership for a team of engineering managers in the support of multiple, complex product lines or processes at a manufacturing site and to set the standards of practice for all engineering functions. You will ensure all engineering activities and related technical support functions across the site are managed in support of ongoing production activities and in adoption of new operational or technological innovations. You will develop the strategies and tactics required for the engineering and/or technical organizations to align to the site’s and business’ long-range plans. Under your leadership, your team will be accountable for providing the technical leadership required to sustain and optimize ongoing production in support of both immediate and long term goals, ensure site quality, deliver continuous improvement projects with attendant impact on the site’s financial performance, serve as the recognized process technical experts within the site, and/or accept accountability for ensuring the successful transfer of new products and new technologies into the site.Be a Strategic LeaderAssume responsibility for all engineering and technical activities across a complex, multi-product line manufacturing site and accept accountability for delivering the Key Performance Goals/Targets establishedServe as an integral member of the Site’s Leadership Team and contribute to the development of the Site’s Strategies and annual goals and objectives from which your Key Performance Goals/Targets are derivedLead your direct reports which include any combination of engineering managers and senior level engineering professionalsUnderstand and adhere to Integer’s Values and all company policies, procedures, and work instructions defined in your training planEnsure compliance to the established Quality Management SystemEnsure compliance to all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security protocolsSupport the development of the site Hoshin Plan and lead the cross-functional execution of the manufacturing-related imperativesDevelop and accept accountability to deliver sustained Continuous Improvement processesDefine the goals and objectives for your direct reports with supporting Key Performance Indicators (metrics in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity)Champion talent develop within the engineering organization by leveraging individual growth and development plans and organizational succession plansManage by walking around -- going to the Gemba to observe and ask questions and being an active listenerModel an open and inclusive communication style at the daily production boards, in the weekly engineering and operations’ project update meetings, and in the monthly KPI Board reviews and Town Hall meetingsEngage with Associates at all levels and across all functions, finding time every week to join them for lunch, during breaks, and inviting them to your team meetingsEnsure one/one time with your direct reports, regularly, to monitor performance and check in on progress to both their Individual Development Plans and those of their direct reportsInteract directly with your customers and thought leaders, internal and external; participate actively in customer business reviews and during site visits and auditsPartner with your peers on the Site Leadership Team, aligning on strategies, tactics, and actions needed to achieve the Site’s objectivesCollaborate with the R&D and Product Development teams to ensure the ongoing support for the Product Development Processes and Technology Development Processes to ensure the success of new product and/or new technology launchesChampion Quality within the Engineering team – “I own Quality.” Be a the pre-eminent standard bearer for Quality in everything we do at Integer, by assuring adherence to our QMS, facilitating corrective and preventive actions, and contributing to the successful attainment of our quality KPI’s and journey to 5 SigmaPerform other duties, as needed and as directedChampion Manufacturing Excellence and drive Market Focus Innovation Strategies:Be the unrelenting site champion for deployment of the systems and tools to optimize all production activities across the siteEmbrace the Manufacturing Excellence culture based on the Integer Production System and its five focus areas: Strategy Alignment, Leadership of Sustained Change, Standardization, Associate Engagement, and Systems & Process OptimizationParticipate in the development of production plans with representatives from other departments, such as Operations, Planning, Continuous Improvement, Customer Service, Quality, and Materials to ensure that production performance standards meet customer requirementsMonitor the status of actual daily and longer-term performance against the production plan; ensure your team is prioritizing and supporting the efforts required to drive actions to address off standard performance.Actively participate in the development of Technology Roadmaps for a business or for a product line and assess what initiatives may be required at the site level to support implementation as well as likely impact on product growth strategies; As a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in an engineering or related technical discipline is required. As well, you will have accumulated a history of at least 15 years of engineering and/or technical support roles including at least 10 years in technical management positions.Accomplished track record in production environments where you owned the responsibilities for delivering results — particularly those KPIs noted aboveFirst hand experiences managing teams responsible for implementing and/or sustaining Manufacturing Excellence and Lean practicesDemonstrated experiences with strategic and direct management of engineering or technical teams in a fast paced and in complex manufacturing environments where products were made to stock and made to orderWhile not required for this position, your willingness to consider relocation opportunities and rotational assignments will provide additional opportunities for future career growth and progression within IntegerA mastery of problem-solving skills and evidence that you are a critical thinker and thoughtful decision maker is needed and we value your certification as at least a Green Belt or equivalent.
