- Lead the activity of collecting dimensional targets and reflecting them into the product, process and tooling design.
- Lead the definition of locating strategy for components and assemblies.
- Working with Manufacturing to develop the tooling concept.
- Technically leading the development of rigid and compliant dimension models in 3DCS.
- Work closely with design and manufacturing engineers to develop, validate and incorporate Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
- Lead testing, optimizing and validating GD&T for parts and assemblies to meet or exceed dimensional targets.
- Oversee the development of gaging strategy.
- Work with cross-functional teams to recommend, evaluate and make design and process improvement proposals.
- Lead the development and rollout of training whenever required.
- 8 years of experience in Dimensional engineering or related area.
- 5 years of experience in leading/managing a dimensional engineering team.
- Vehicle level leadership of a new product's dimensional engineering.
- Full understanding of automotive system/sub-system level dimensional requirements.
- Architectural driver of the development of a new product concept.
- Expert-level understanding of GD&T.
- A proven track record of excellence in dimensional analysis and tolerance stacks using 3DCS.
- A deep understanding of design, development, manufacturing processes, and assembly operations in the automotive or related field
- Proven track record in leadership in Dimensional Engineering in automotive industry.
- Full understanding of Inspection Methods and Measurement Systems
- Expert in Statistical Process Capability, Root Cause Analysis, and Problem-Solving Techniques
- Experience in End-to-End dimensional engineering from concept to launch for a minimum of 5 programs.
- Expert level understanding of GD&T and Dimensional standards.
- Pioneering experience in development of End-to-End product development process.
- Practical experience in development of Jigs, fixtures, and robotic assembly tools and processes.
- Expert-level knowledge in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly.
- Trainer level expertise in 3DCS add-on module for Catia V5/V6
- Full understanding of body structures, castings, extrusions, stampings, molding and all their advantages and limitations.
- Full understanding of the Automotive Quality Core Tools (SPC, MSA, PPAP, FMEA & APQP)
- Bachelor's Degree in a related engineering discipline
- Expert level GD&T qualification
- Master's degree in engineering is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Black belt in 6 Sigma is desirable, but not a mandatory requirement.
