The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.Salary Range $69,000.00 - $113,800.00Target Openings 1What Is the Opportunity? Travelers is seeking an initiative taking, experienced data analyst to review service and technology data to identify gaps and continuous improvement opportunities in technology quality for improved experiences. Focused on conducting data analysis across many sources and technologies such as application performance monitoring, technology logs, ServiceNow incident, problem and change data and other data sources as they evolve. Self-starter with very strong analytical and critical thinking skills including a curiosity to find opportunities across a multitude of spaces and information. Ability to measure, identify trends and insights through a horizontal view for different audiences. Produce standard as well as ad hoc reports as necessary. Enjoys communicating and working with technical and non-technical constituents and evolve thinking as our technologies evolve. Ability to identify new metrics as well to discover opportunities both pro-actively and reactively. All while working in an Agile framework.This role is part of an evolving team focused on understanding data to drive value added actions to meet key objectives and KPI’s as well as define them. As a Property and Casualty Insurer, some insurance knowledge is a must.   • Uses Analytics to explain technology impacts on the business, monitor and identify actionable opportunities
  • Use descriptive and diagnostic analysis to identify technology and business trends
  • Conduct ad hoc reporting and analysis and create presentations using data visualization and storytelling to communicate insights and help influence decisions/outcomes
  • Interprets data to recognize patterns and analyze trends
  • Monitor data to recognize patterns and identify possible trends
  • Support Proofs of Concept to inform technical and business strategies
  • Work with data towards the ultimate design required to meet requests
  • Monitor technology and business results (indicators) to determine if desired results are achieved, with guidance and identifies possible improvements
  • Complete reasonability and validation tests with some direction – may include lean process work
  • Learn new tools for analyzing different data sources – both reactively and pro-actively
  • Can manipulate raw data and work towards the ultimate design required to meet business requests
  • May participate on projects
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?Two years of analytics or related experience working in the P&C industry.Analytical mindset.Exposure and some working knowledge of business intelligence tools.Ability to effectively communicate and present technical data and trends.Ability to collaborate and build relationships with business partners.Knowledge of descriptive analytic processes, including data quality, data reporting, and data retrieval.Developing understanding of business functions, operations, analytic functions and/or product of supported business line.3+ years of analytics or related experience3+ years working successfully with Microsoft Office products – in particular advanced ExcelExperience with lean six sigma tools is a real plusExposure and working knowledge of query tools, dashboards and visualization toolsGeneral knowledge of analytic concepts including data relationshipsExperience with Descriptive analytic practices and processes preferredAbility to communicate and present technical data and trendsProperty & Casualty business knowledge of insurance products and conceptsExperience working on teamsWhat is a Must Have?Bachelor’s Degree or one year of equivalent experience.What Is in It for You?
