- High school diploma and at least one year work experience in security, social services, or corrections; or four-year college degree; or military experience.
- A valid Montana driver's license.
- Ability to pass Federal workplace drug and alcohol testing regulations.
- Good writing and verbal skills.
- Ability to work on any shift, 24/7.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office programs.
- Undergraduate degree in Behavioral Sciences.
- Experience working with an offender population
- Ensure new Client Advisor staff are assigned a mentor and being actively trained while on your shift.
- Ensure that duties listed on the In-Charge Checklist are accomplished on assigned shift (i.e., documented, detailed, completed, and accurate).
- May be required to work up to five In-Charge shifts per week. The in-charge may be required to workday shift, swing shifts, and/or night shift as determined by facility need.
- Provide relevant feedback to the Operations Supervisor on six-month and annual performance evaluations.
- Look for and assign cross training opportunities for Client Advisors on shift.
- Arrange coverage as needed in the event of illness or absence of assigned staff.
- Ensure that the interagency mail for the CA area is picked up and distributed on a regular basis. Mail discrepancies will be placed in the CA In Charge box for resolution.
- Assist in revision of resident handbook, SOP’s, CA addendums and 6-minute trainings.
- Attend all meetings as assigned.
- Ensure that the output of the shift to include, but not limited to the In-Charge Checklist, Shift Leader Report, and Shift Notes.
- Maintain appropriate flag protocol. Coordinate with CA staff to be sure protocol is followed.
- Serve as contact person for biohazard cleanup.
- Point person for DNA samples collection, finger printing, and photos.
- Serve as the primary Hearings Officer for Class 300 Incident Reports on PRC, and as assigned on ASRC and ADT.
- Ensure that fraudulent reporting and faking documentation does not occur.
- Delegate the upkeep and monitoring of miscellaneous storage rooms.
- Ensure all new CAs are thoroughly trained and certified as first responders previous to allowing them to be assigned this duty.
- Coordinate with the Training and Development Coordinator for training materials.
- Ensure that all CAs are trained in the door alarms system in accordance with policy and ensure that drills in door response procedures occur on all alarmed/secured doors in the facility. Test hold up alarm monitoring station monthly in concert with the scheduled fire drill. Forward any concerns to the Operations Supervisor.
- Coordinate with Maintenance regarding any problems with the fire alarm system.
- Collect and route late mandatory training from CA staff to the Training and Development Coordinator.
