Transportation Construction Lead

- Perform construction engineering duties that include field layout of projects, quantity verification, record keeping, contractor pay estimate and contract modification preparation, construction meetings, materials acceptance, CDOT finals, QA/QC process, and general inspection.
- Serve as inspector/engineer for transportation and water resource related construction projects.
- Ensure that the work is produced on schedule, profitably, and in conformance with the quality standards of Ayres Associates and requirements of the contract.
- Build and maintain respectful working relationships with fellow employee owners and leaders within the company.
- Assist with the design and plan production of transportation related projects.
- Actively engage in local, statewide, and/or national professional organizations.
- Participate in office-wide, social events.
- Manage small projects and support staff overseeing the completion of all project work.
- Participate in successfully identifying, marketing, and winning transportation construction management projects from clients including CDOT, Counties, municipalities, and private sector clients.
- Support and participate in the development and mentorship of staff.
- 2-6 years of construction management/inspection/observation experience with transportation projects.
- Ability to create and maintain working relationships with clients and contractors.
- Ability to walk over uneven terrain and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness and ability to travel to project locations is expected, including remote locations and out of state, for extended periods of time for various construction projects.
- A valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Experience in Civil3D and/or OpenRoads Designer, or the desire to learn roadway design software.
- Willingness to work with other divisions including survey, subsurface utility engineering, water resources, etc.
- Experience on CDOT project development process and construction observation.
- Experience identifying and securing client/project opportunities and maintaining clients and repeat work.
- CDOT required inspector certifications.
- An Associates or Bachelor's degree in an applicable field.
