- Assists in the development of Behavior Intervention Plans and Behavior Contracts for general and special education students.
- Conducts group and individual counseling sessions to encourage the social emotional well-being of students.
- Facilitates trainings in the area of delivery of interventions using the Pyramid of Interventions to teachers, support staff, and administrators.
- Facilitate staff development workshops in the area of classroom management.
- Assists in collecting and analyzing behavioral data to both select students to receive Wrap around support from community agencies and to develop treatment plans for students selected.
- Administers psychological assessments by interviewing and evaluating students, and facilitating a wide-variety of testing strategies.
- Uses best practices to aid in the identification of students with disabilities and communicates this information to parents and teams in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analyzes and synthesizes data to prepare written reports to include diagnostic decisions and recommendations.
- Consults with teachers, parents, administrators, student support teams, and students to improve students' success in school.
- Makes recommendations to assist with planning and implementation of prescriptive programs.
- Plans and directs crisis intervention and professional development classes.
- Functions as member of district Crisis Intervention Teams during local and national crises.
- Assists in ensuring that decisions concerning special education services for students are made in a fair manner that ensures state and federal compliance, due process, confidentiality of records, protection in evaluation procedures, and protection of the student's right to an appropriate education.
- Reviews students' permanent records, developmental history, adaptive behavioral information, observational notes, diagnostic testing and data provided by outside agencies or sources.
- Integrates, analyzes and synthesizes data to determine what strategies might be appropriate in meeting the needs of individual students.
- Effectively communicates the nature of students' disabilities and the impact said disabilities have on students' behavior during Manifestation Determination meetings.
- Master's Degree in School Psychology from an accredited university required.
- Specialist Degree in School Psychology from an accredited university preferred.
- S-5 Certificate from the Georgia Professional Certification in School Psychology is required.
- S-6 Certificate from the Georgia Professional Certification in School Psychology is preferred.
- Valid driving license and availability of private transportation is required.
- Work experience gained through education and certification/license requirements.
- Experience working with students required.
