BCNY’s two well-equipped clubhouses in East Harlem and Flushing and its wilderness camp in Harriman State Park offer activities and programs remarkable in their range. From swimming to robotics and enjoying ice skating in Central Park and a trip to the theatre on Saturdays, BCNY programs deepen interests and skills and are free of charge to members and their families. Our dedicated and highly skilled staff have made BCNY a leader in youth programming across the field and we invite you to join our team as we partner with boys and young men as they journey through their childhoods and our clubhouses.Position SummaryBCNY is seeking a dynamic and organized Development Manager to support BCNY’s fundraising efforts. The Development Manager will report directly to the Managing Director of Development (MDoD) and play a critical role in ensuring the organization reaches its fundraising goal of $6mm annually. Join an energetic and highly collaborative team consisting of the Managing Director of Development, Institutional Giving Manager, and Development Associate.Key Responsibilities
  • Events Management: Project manage donor-facing aspects of BCNY’s special events.
  • Produce deliverables such as meeting materials and reports, solicitations, sponsorship and guest communications.
  • Track and facilitate sponsorship details, tickets, donations, guest list and seating.
  • Oversee design and production of digital and print events collateral.
  • Provide day of support to execute a seamless experience for attendees.
  • Individual Giving: Support Managing Director of Development with the cultivation and stewardship of prospective and current donors.
  • Conduct ongoing research on new prospects.
  • Track and implement cultivation plans and solicitation strategies set by MDoD and CEO.
  • Donor Communication: Streamline communications to keep donors informed about the impact of their support.
  • Enhance existing communications in partnership with Development team.
  • Develop and drive new and creative touch points including regular updates, newsletters, and personalized communications.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the development team, program staff, and senior leadership to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals and priorities. Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and cross-departmental initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent 4-year relevant workforce experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage donors effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience with donor management software and fundraising databases (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge) preferred.
