- Conduct initial assessments to understand client concerns and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Collaborate with other practitioners to ensure comprehensive support throughout the therapeutic process
- Participate in regular training opportunities to stay current with industry best practices
- Contribute ideas towards program development or improvement initiatives
- Provide evidence-based therapy to address a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges.
- Offer crisis intervention and support to clients in distress, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and provide holistic support to clients.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Stay abreast of the latest research, trends, and best practices in the field of mental health counseling.
- Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT in the state
- Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals facing emotional challenges preferred but not required
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport quickly
- Familiarity using electronic medical records systems is a plus
- Demonstrated experience providing counseling services to individuals, couples, and families.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to cultural competence and providing inclusive and affirming care.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Full-time counselors in this role can expect to make from $115,000 to $130,000 a year.
- Counselors who work full-time are eligible for a monthly healthcare stipend.
