Job Description:DescriptionIn September, 2023 the Institute for Equity and Justice in Health Sciences Education was established to expand upon Icahn Mount Sinai's efforts to be an anti-racist, anti-biased learning and training environment in health sciences education.The Institute's mission is to support and enhance an anti-racist, anti-oppressive learning and training environment in medical, biomedical, and health professions education, and to serve as a national resource for consultation and best practices.The goals of the Institute are to develop the capacity of health sciences educators across disciplines to dismantle and disrupt racism, bias and oppression; provide learning opportunities to accelerate antiracist/anti-oppressive transformational change in educational settings through systems change, strategic planning, and priority-setting; evaluate the impact of racism, oppression, and bias on biomedical and health professions education; and develop targeted interventions to address racism, oppression and bias in biomedical and health professions education.The Change Strategist position will oversee and facilitate the change process methodology that drives Icahn Mount Sinai's Racism and Bias Initiative (RBI) and the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation grant-funded program Anti-Racist Transformation in Medical Education (ART in Med Ed). The position will work under the direct supervision of the Co-Director of The Institute for Equity and Justice in Health Sciences Education.
Responsibilities
  • Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities Oversee and facilitate the change management methodology, process and tools that support anti-racist transformational change at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (Department of Medical Education and The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences) and other health sciences education programs across North America.
  • Support capacity development efforts Provide input and support the design and delivery of assessments, strategic planning, team building, mentoring, coaching, and training. If applicable, oversee and train external educators who will be hired to facilitate sessions with health sciences education programs.
  • Assess the change impact Conduct impact analyses and assess change readiness as well as individual and institutional capacity.
  • Support communication and dissemination efforts Enable the design, development, delivery and management of key communications with internal and external partners. Contribute to scholarly products and support dissemination efforts.

education/pedagogy.
● Experience with or willingness to gain knowledge of change management principles,
methodologies and tools.

The salary range for this role is $59,895.00 - $120,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need.
