Description :Darigold is seeking a skilled Supervising Maintenance Electrician to join our Portland Plant Maintenance team. The Electrician is responsible for installing and repairing electrical systems, apparatus and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications. This position will be a graveyard shift. This role is represented by a bargaining agreement, which will require union membership. Must have a valid Oregon Electrician license and be available to work any shift. $55/hrEssential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):Responsible for maintaining all types of plant equipment in good working order includingbut not limited to:
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, test, install and repair electrical parts, equipment and systems including power distribution, motors, controls, VFDs and PLCs.
  • Perform accurate instrument calibration work including following written procedures and detailed documentation of calibration results.
  • Troubleshoot and tune PID loops.
  • Troubleshoot and repair process sensors for pressure, temperature, pH, and flow.
  • Perform prescribed Preventative Maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve control networks, instrumentation, PLC, HMI, VFD, servo and control problems.
  • Safely work with Multiphase, High Voltage and Low Voltage electrical systems.
  • Read and interpret work orders, safety rules, mechanical and electrical drawings, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Working knowledge of National, State, Local building codes, OSHA, and standard industry safety rules/regulations.
  • Perform the general duties of a plant electrician; run conduit & wire, replace electrical equipment, install new equipment, perform preventive maintenance on production and facilities equipment, initiate and modify electrical designs, and update electrical drawings.
  • Entering data and time worked in EAM.
  • Maintaining parts inventory using work orders and requesting parts as needed
  • Following all plant safety procedures, this includes wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.as well as LOTO procedures.
  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records, document all work performed appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
  • Willing to cover for and assist maintenance mechanics when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
This position is responsible for following all Food Safety and Quality requirements as outlined in Darigold’s Good Manufacturing Policy, in conformance with the position’s Standard Operating Procedures, and in accordance with facility training sessions and materials. The position is also required to report any concerns that may impact Food Safety or Quality to their immediate supervisor, the Plant Quality Manager or the Plant Manager.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • 3 years related experience required.
  • Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred.
  • Attain and maintain required certifications
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to work in a wet/humid environment with moderate noise.
  • Effectively work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to urgent repairs.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, crawl, reach, bend, climb and occasionally sit throughout the entire shift.
  • Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds occasionally and assist others when lifting is necessary.
Education, Experience and Certifications:
  • MUST HAVE A VALID OREGON ELECTRICIAN LICENSE or LIMITED MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN LICENSE.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
