Crystal Lake School District 47 currently has an opening for a PreK Physical Education Teacher. The goal of this position is to coordinate the school physical education program and teach students physical education that will contribute to their development as mature, active, able and responsible adults.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Promote fitness and health in physical education curriculum and school-wide
  • Instruct an age appropriate health curriculum that includes current factual knowledge, positive attitudes, and skills necessary to maintain and improve students’ health and well-being
  • Implement district curriculum including team and individual sports, fitness and rhythms
  • Assist in the coordination of school-wide physical education events
  • Maintain physical education equipment
  • Encourage the integration and reinforcement of consistent healthful messages throughout the school
  • Encourage healthy role models for students
  • Foster cross-discipline connections related to physical education, substance abuse prevention, and family/consumer science to promote life-long wellness
  • Develop high quality objectives for teaching and learning
  • Work with staff and building administrator in scheduling
  • Report to building administrator
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License
  • Grade appropriate Physical Education Endorsement (PreK)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education
  • Student teaching and/or experience in a PreK classroom
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Demonstrate high levels of flexibility, have excellent interpersonal communication skills, articulation, concentration, confidentiality, organization and maintain a positive attitude
  • Physical requirements include, sitting, standing, bending, walking, and lifting equipment and materials
  • High level of flexibility, articulation, concentration, and confidentiality
