Visiting Theology Faculty PositionThe University of Mary invites applications for a faculty position in theology to begin in the fall semester of 2024. Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience. Applicants should excel in teaching at the undergraduate level and demonstrate a commitment to supporting student formation outside of the classroom. Area of specialization is open.Duties involve teaching courses at the undergraduate level. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to teaching theology formed by and responsive to Scripture and Tradition as presented by the Catholic Church’s Magisterium. Applicants will be able to teach courses which cover the biblical narrative, as well as ancient, medieval, or modern theology.The successful candidate will also demonstrate a joyful commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church in their entirety and must seek the mandatum from the Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Bismarck acknowledging that the professor is teaching theology in full communion with the Church. All faculty are expected to demonstrate a willingness to support and advance the Christian, Catholic, and Benedictine mission and identity of the University of Mary (see ).Required qualifications include:
  • Doctorate in theology, biblical studies, or related field preferred by time of appointment (ABD candidates will be considered)
  • Excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level
  • Support for the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities
  • Build a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the School of Arts and Sciences and throughout the university in accord with Saint Benedict’s admonition that all be received as Christ.
