- Provides direct patient care including evaluations, consultations, development of treatment plans centered on functional limitations and patient needs.
- Skillfully applies therapeutic techniques to address patient treatment needs. Interventions may include, but are not limited to, therapeutic exercise, functional training, manual therapy, (including soft tissue and joint mobilization); custom orthosis fabrication, physical agents/ modalities; and patient-related education (including home exercise program).
- Develops trusted relationships with referring providers, contributing to marketing and community outreach efforts.
- Helps ensure well-run clinical operations by completing necessary documentation and billing in a quality manner.
- Manages caseload effectively and uses excellent time management, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrates the flexibility to accommodate and facilitate proficient patient care, including a willingness to provide care at more than one rehab therapy site as needed.
- Stays current with trends and practices in therapeutic evaluation and treatment, supporting evidence-based practice.
- Participates in clinical education, staff meetings and quality improvement programs, and staff development projects.
- Demonstrates excellent time management, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Supervises physical therapy students to develop their clinical skills and ensure the delivery of quality patient care.
- Complies with all pertinent rules and regulations within the State Practice Act and the American Physical Therapy Association's Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
- Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
