Our Bay Area Lifestyle Studios have been strategically formed as a special boutique collaborative, focusing on iconic hotel architecture, one-of-a-kind interiors, guest experience, food and beverage strategy, experiential retail, and work-life integration. As a result of a growing, diverse client base and increasing project work, we are searching for a Project Architect with 10+ years of experience to join our team.What You Will DoManage project coordination and general contractors including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, acoustic, AV, food service, fitness, landscape, and moreProvide project code and accessibility reviews and prepare reportsLead technical communication and coordination within the project team, as well as with clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officialsProvide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve and document complex technical and design challengesPrepare & maintain the project documentation, including the construction documentation, project manual and specificationsConduct on-site observations and document site reviewsProcess submittals, RFIs, substitution requests, etc. during constructionInterface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the projectProvide mentorship to junior staff throughout project phasesYour QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Architecture and 10+ years of experience as a project architect with a strong background in hospitality interiors, retail, and/or other lifestyle projectsMust be a licensed architect in the State of CaliforniaExperience managing multiple aspects of client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, acoustic, AV, food service, fitness, landscape, and moreExperience resolving complex technical and design issuesProficiency with Revit is requiredStrong knowledge of AutoCadSketchUp, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite knowledge a plusUnderstanding of how buildings are constructed and ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly and accurately describe the work to be doneStrong knowledge of building codes, standards, and building structuresPassionate leadership, organizational, communication, and relationship management skillsDemonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices required; Portfolios should include at least 1 project with this particular focus, and candidates should be prepared to talk about this in their interview, especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard , Fitwel and /or Net Zero Building certification.*The base salary will be estimated between $118,000 - $140,000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.*To be considered, please submit a portfolio in PDF formatLife at GenslerAt Gensler, we are as committed to enjoying life as we are to delivering best-in-class design.
