Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical design pre-construction tasks effectively and efficiently, while adhering to company standards.
- Apply knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) to industrial electrical design by preparing constructible electrical drawings.”
- Identify constructability issues, missing information and notify the project team of these issues.
- Maintain project BIM execution plan with project team.
- Coordinate all BIM Modeling in Revit and maintain knowledge of trends in the BIM field.
- Ability to translate 2D drawings and specs into a complete 3D/4D models.
- Understand process and standards for creating fabrication drawings fabrication drawings that are professional and accurate using architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical contract prints consistent with company and client standards.
- Estimate and establish VDC resources, budget, and schedule for assigned project.
- Develop documents and implement practices and standards to optimize efficiency of projects.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned by site management.
- Must have a basic understanding of electrical control systems.
- Experience with electrical power from low voltage AC (120/208V) through medium voltage (15kV).
- Experience with control/instrument voltage discrete and analog.
- Good understanding of electrical safety regulations, and codes.
- Experience with installing electrical distribution or controls. Automation experience would be beneficial.
- Experience with REVIT and/or AutoCAD drafting software is beneficial
- Able to communicate clearly with clients and other Interstates team members through both verbal and written communication.
- Ability to take on crew leader responsibilities- leading people, creating work for others.
- Must possess the ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Able to prioritize work and deal with stress.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.)
- Associates Degree (A.A., A.S.) from a two-year community college or technical college with an emphasis in Electrical Design and Construction.
- OR Electrical Designer, Electrical Engineer or Journeyman/Master Electrician with experience in the Commercial/Industrial field with 3-5 years of experience.
- OR 4 years of related electrical training.
- OR equivalent combination of education and related experience/training
