- Develop Multiphysics models of lithium-ion batteries under extreme operating conditions based on cell structure, electrochemistry knowledge, and test.
- Develop multi-dimensional battery models to predict cell behavior including but not necessarily limited to heat flux, electrochemical and thermal response, and safety related performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional team to optimize cell design by predicting thermal and electrochemical performances under extreme conditions with given design space.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and maintain your model
- Review academic papers and provide insight summary for team members
- Work with intellectual property team to patent your inventions
- MS with over 5 years of industrial experience or PhD degree in EE, ME, CS, Math, Physics, Chemistry, Materials
- Fundamental knowledge of commercial Li-ion cell structure and electrochemical/thermal behavior
- Experienced in creating multi-dimensional structure and run CFD models for electrochemical/thermal systems.
- Familiar with battery testing equipment and test protocol
- Excellent communication skills and team-oriented attitude
- Comfortable with initiating and taking ownership of projects
- Experienced in CFD model package (e.g. Ansys Fluent) other than COMSOL for battery simulation
- Experience in modeling of mechanical structure of the cylindrical or prismatic battery cell.
- Experienced in thermal test using the battery cell/module/pack
- Experienced in thermal runaway and propagation simulation
- Fluency in other programming languages such as python, C, or MATLAB.
