Responsible for the overall management of the organization's budgets and oversight of accounting duties as assigned. Frequently exercises initiative and independent judgment. Establishes budgets, guides, and maintains supervisors/managers informed of the budget's goals and objectives. Provides technical support and monitors accounting personnel to ensure efficient and effective administration of accounting principles and current regulations.Responsibilities and Duties
  • Develops, maintains, and communicates budget measures, goals, and objectives to supervisors/managers.
  • Updates the department head on the status and progress of budgets.
  • Supervises and assures proper procedures and quality work is performed by assigned personnel.
  • Attends and participates in meetings, workshops, and training sessions as directed by the department head.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Working knowledge of the generally accepted accounting principles and procedures, budgets, and record keeping. Knowledge of the latest version of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, etc.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working internal relations.
  • Ability to exercise judgment in unusual or stressful situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in a professional manner.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Computer experience required, knowledge of MAS 90 preferred.
  • Knowledge of budgets and application of budgetary policies and procedures preferred.
  • Knowledge of administrative and financial procedures and practice, as well as principle techniques, terminology, and procedures of good accounting practices.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
Required Education
  • Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
Required Experience
  • 0 - 1 year of experience in accounting for non-profit, governmental, and/or health care organizations.
