Internal Job Title- ADA COMPLIANCE SPECIALISTThis role will specifically focus on ADA Administration
- Review ADA requests for accommodation, engage with employees in the interactive process and provide an organizational decision on the accommodation to the leave and disability vendor and employee
- Manage complex ADA requests
- Maintain compliance with federal, state and local laws related to job protection and accommodating employees with disabilities
- Administer ***'s accommodation policies in a consistent manner while reducing risk to the organization
- Stay abreast of legislation and national, state and local issues affecting access for employees with disabilities in addition to maintaining a working knowledge of key trends and employer best practices
- Handles intake of accommodation requests, sends required notices, forms, and letters, and determines employee eligibility
- Coordinates with Managers and HR Business Partners to evaluate the need for potential accommodations
- Conducts clear and thorough review of documentation and identifies any need for clarification
- Processes and issues determination of accommodation requests
- Drafts correspondence and documents all stages of the accommodation request process
- Provides support for all employee ADA needs to include open communication with employees, supervisors, and human resources personnel
- Advises managers and employees on the interaction of the various leave entitlements and the ADA
- Interprets, administers, and maintains compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, human resources policies and procedures, and collective bargaining unit agreements
- Communicates with human resources partners and other partners to ensure cooperative relationships
- Analyzes and resolves problem situations and takes or recommends appropriate action in collaboration with supervisor
