Questions before applying? 785-966-3060Role:The childcare aide assists with plans and conducting activities/programs in the Child Care Rooms. Cares for children from six weeks to 6 years-old including diapering, feeding, holding, singing, dancing, reading, playing, and teaching. Individual child and family goals will be developed, implemented, and reviewed in partnership with parents on an ongoing, regular basis. A team approach between families and the Child Care Aide will support and assist each child's family to develop linkages and relationships within the community for any services needed.Minimum Requirements:Experience: Up to 6 Months or related experience required, must be 18 years of ageEducation: High School Diploma or GEDInterpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.

  • Attend local and out-of-state/out-of-town training periodically to enhance job performance and knowledge.
