The Senior Sheet Metal Worker will direct/manage, fabricate, build, and install various types of metal structures and equipment for facility maintenance and installation programs.Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Consults blueprints, work orders, and/or schematics to safely construct/direct construction of specified structure; develops additional sketches if needed.
  • Selects appropriate material for each job based on the desired or necessary strength.
  • Directs and/or cuts, bends, and shapes sheet metal to required dimensions.
  • Oversees and/or measures, cuts, and welds pieces together according to specifications, blueprints, or directions.
  • Directs/connects pieces or secures seams by riveting, rolling, soldering, or using steel screws.
  • Performs/leads assigned work on assembly lines such as punching holes for screws or bending gutters.
  • Uses appropriate machinery and software applications to complete assigned jobs.
  • Coordinates required shutdowns and startups of equipment with other departments after sheet metal installation.
  • Develops and maintains records for projects and repairs.
  • Mandates/maintains clean and orderly work space for self and subordinates.
  • Performs/directs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to lead/complete sheet metal projects with accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to direct safe use/safely use machinery and tools involved in sheet metal work.
  • Ability to disseminate and follow directions.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics to understand product assignment.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a Journeyman License and 8 years of sheetmetal/fabrication experience required.
  • Master Sheetmetal Worker license is diserable but not required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods lifting, reaching, and working on scaffolding and overhead structures as well as small confined spaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
