The mission of Hidden Valley 4-H Camp is to provide youth with a fun, residential camp experience under the guidance of positive role models that emphasize community building, positive social interactions, environmental awareness, and skill building.The Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintaining and cleaning camp buildings, grounds, and equipment. The Maintenance Manager is not required to live on camp.DurationThe Maintenance Manager will assume this role during the week beginning June 23rd, one week of mandatory staff training from June 30th through July 7th, and five full weeks and one partial week of residential and day camp running from Sunday at 11:00 AM to Friday at 6:00 PM except the weekend starting August 9th. This weekend will be a working weekend for all camp staff. The specific dates the Camp is in operation are July 7th through August 13th. The Maintenance Manager will remain on Camp until August 16th to assist in closing the camp facility.Specific ResponsibilitiesMaintain equipment, grounds, and buildings of the campKeep a daily journal of tasks accomplishedRemoval of garbageCleaning of bathrooms, showers & dining hall entryway dailyMaintain duties as Safety inspectorCheck smoke detectors and fire extinguishers, and make sure all doors are clear.Supervise and work with any Summer Youth Employees assigned to daily cleaning of campReport general conditions of camp property, including dishwasher, water system, and equipment, to the Camp Director, who will then contact the State Park Office if necessaryCheck and record chlorine levels in the water dailyAssist in camp purchases of cleaning supplies, paper products, etc.Keep inventory of suppliesSupervise and actively participate in the opening and closing of campOther duties may be assigned as requiredQualifications21 years of age or olderAbility to organize work efficiently in general maintenance and cleaning of campBasic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing skillsAbility to supervise and organize youth and adultsValid U.S. Drivers License, subject to motor vehicle checkGood characterPOSITION DETAILSThis is a full time, (TEMPORARY) exempt position.Salary and Benefit DetailsThe rate of pay will be $2200.00. (Rate will be reduced for any time scheduled but not worked during the period) The pay rate is commensurate with experience, certifications, responsibilities, and availability.
