2. Provides oversight of dispensing, ordering, and restocking of medications for the inpatient hospice unit, where applicable. Performs final verification of all patient specific medication orders for accuracy.
3. Verifies and reviews third party shipping vendor and pharmacy courier deliveries prior to shipment.
4. Support established performance goals for all staff, including minimization and reduction of any and all errors (dispensing/data entry/restock).
5. Assists in maintaining extreme customer service and client relations.
6. Build and maintain practice documents for all established clients and responsibilities to aid in the training of new employees.
7. Maintain inventory per financial and strategic guidelines. Oversee inventory replenishment and order pharmacy product supplies as needed (in conjunction with Lead Technician), including ongoing hospice inpatient and unit dispense machine inventory replenishment, where applicable.
8. Assist the Pharmacy Manager with routine formulary and inventory reviews for inpatient unit facilities.
9. Coordinate effective inventory of labels, vials, and other supplies.
10. Oversee and coordinate proper maintenance of related departmental equipment.
11. Assist Pharmacy Manager in mediation when staff conflict arises, when requested.
12. Foster and maintain a positive work culture/environment.
13. Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.Marginal or Additional Functions1. Protects company’s intellectual property and the privacy of customers’ and patients’ data

- This position does not have supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
- RPh required, PharmD preferred
- Active pharmacy license in state of pharmacy operation
- Pharmacy licenses in other states or willingness to obtain additional licenses
- LTC dispensing pharmacy experience
- Hospice and palliative care experience preferred
- Multidisciplinary team leadership experience in a variety of setting preferred
- Demonstrates competency in equianalgesic dosing, generic and therapeutic substitution, formulary management and prior authorization procedures
- Demonstrates understanding, competency and adherence to all state and federal pharmacy practice rules and regulations
- Proficient typing and computer skills are paramount to employee satisfaction and success while fulfilling responsibilities

- Limited travel may be required
- Work is performed in a professional office environment.
- This position entails a high level of work performed at a computer terminal and telephone or headset equipment throughout the day
- Regular eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity is required to operate office equipment
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
