Home Office: Bozeman, MTProject Work Location: Libby, MTJob Type: FulltimeWork Schedule: M-F w/some weekend workPosition Summary:Pioneer Technical Services, Inc. is currently recruiting for a staff level engineer to perform Construction Inspection, Materials Testing and Project Oversight in Libby, MT. The ideal candidate will be trained in the Bozeman office location for 4 to 6 weeks and then transfer to Libby to work full time at that location. The position will be 40 to 50 compensated hours per week with some work on Saturdays may be required. This position will involve field inspection services, materials testing in the laboratory, and project oversight/management. Field Inspection services include field density testing using a nuclear density gauge, fresh grout and concrete sampling, shotcrete testing and coring. Laboratory testing will include performing compressive strength testing of grout, concrete, and shotcrete specimens. Other duties will include data management, equipment maintenance, sample organization. This employee will work under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Manager or Project Engineer. Project experience in general construction, field density testing, concrete testing, soil sampling, and materials testing as well as experience with Microsoft Word and Excel programs is preferred but not required. Pioneer will provide on the job training to perform field testing and laboratory testing tasks. Candidate must have a valid Class D driver's license.Project/Job Specific Benefits Include:

Essential FunctionsEssential Functions Statements
  • Communicate with Contractor or Site Supervisor regarding testing results and any failing tests or problems.
  • Confer with supervisor to determine project details such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions.
  • Inspect project site and evaluate contractor work to detect deficiencies and ensure conformance to design specifications and applicable codes.
  • Prepare daily field inspection reports that document project activities and data.
  • Conduct materials testing and analysis using provided tools and equipment.
  • Perform data entry, analysis and reporting using Microsoft Excel, Word and other related computer software.
