- Feeds and waters animals.
- Changes animal caging as scheduled, sanitizing rooms, equipment and hallways.
- Conducts daily animal health checks.
- Receives animals into and transfers animals out of facility, and maintains detailed accurate records.
- Ensures that activities are in compliance with AAALAC standards.
- Applies permanent identification devices, collects tissue biopsies.
- Establishes breeding cages and weans juveniles.
- Receives, processes and fulfills internal purchase order requests.
- Detailed record keeping and log documentation.
- Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
- High School diploma or GED.
- One year of relevant experience.
- Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS).
- Basic computer skills (e.g. email, Excel, Word).
