- Help guide the public perception of Wasserman and ensure we continue to be globally known and culturally relevant in the sports, business, marketing, advertising and entertainment industries.
- Positively impact Wasserman’s sports talent representation and brands & properties business, as it relates to sports, through external media and storytelling efforts.
- Foster successful relationships with journalists, editors, and media personalities in the Americas, with some EMEA/APAC involvement as well.
- Generate ideas that will result in earned coverage.
- Write compelling pitches that relate to the core values and pillars of Wasserman’s business.
- Deliver high-impact media placements, secure panelist opportunities, and help in the awards nomination process.
- Work directly with some of the world’s most recognizable athletes and brands, including providing media training and interview guidance, crisis communications support, etc.
- Research, edit and write press releases, executive and client pitches, statements, and other external communications as assigned.
- Facilitate media requests and interviews.
- Edit, update and expand media lists and media contact log.
- Assist in managing editorial calendars and annual event lists.
- Work alongside the communications, marketing, and social media department to tell the holistic story of Wasserman.
- 8+ years of proven work in the marketing, advertising, entertainment and/or sports industry securing national earned media coverage.
- Vast media relationships, ideally in sports business, marketing, advertising and entertainment, with national outlets
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in public relations, communications, journalism, etc.
- Strong writing and editing capabilities.
- Knowledge of the global media landscape, including written, broadcast, audio, etc.
- General knowledge of the sports, business, marketing and entertainment worlds.
- Awareness of industry trends.
- Agency experience is preferred, but not obligatory.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple priorities and strict deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
- Displays indications of being loyal and trustworthy with the organization and clients.
