- Develop methods using hydrological and sediment models, remote sensing, data assimilation, and machine learning techniques to simulate suspended sediment in the Arctic rivers.
- Present research results at conferences
- Publish peer-reviewed literature.
- Ph.D. in Hydrology, Geosciences, Water Resources, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field required by the start date.
- In-depth knowledge of specialized field, process or discipline.
- May require experience with specialized software programs.
- Experience in large-scale soil erosion and river sediment modeling, hydrologic modeling, remote sensing, and research related to Arctic rivers.
- Skills in programming languages (e.g., Python, R, or FORTRAN).
- Research skills and interests in geospatial analysis (e.g., processing satellite datasets), data assimilation, and machine learning.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, ability to think critically, and experience in leading high-impact scientific publications.
- Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
