- Supports, challenges, and aligns sustainable innovation initiatives to strengthen our leadership position and competitive advantages (focusing on zero-carbon, circular economy and resilient materials)
- Develop and assists with the execution of the strategy around carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration (CCUS) for the cement platform.
- Anticipates market needs and develops new building and infrastructure products and solutions optimized for zero-carbon emissions in the building lifecycle.
- Accelerates time to market by creating synergies within CRH and structure the innovation process.
- Captures innovation value by taking care of IP ownership, data management, and know-how retention.
- Disseminate innovation results and monitor execution.
- Scans continuously relevant fields for technological and innovation developments.
- Propose Capital Venture opportunities, cross-industry partnerships, etc.
- Work closely with CRH departments and leverage AMAT and Group Innovation resources and initiatives.
- Develops effective reporting and presentation tools to enable the AG senior management team to continuously assess the developments, identify opportunities, and collaborate with the MTS and GTS groups.
- Advises senior management on product innovation.
- Develops and maintains relationships with start-ups and technology and innovation suppliers.
- Works closely with the innovation team, GTS, ICSC team, and OpCos
- Support the cement platform for developing effective, innovative strategies.
- Informs the management team of competitor activity in the innovation space.
- Represents the company on technical associations and advisory innovation committees.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Scientific degree required
- 10 or more years' of experience in heavy industry and innovation
- A strong understanding of cement decarbonization
- Ability to recognize and assess innovative solutions
- Ability to deal effectively with in-house and external “customers”
- Autonomy in driving innovation and challenging the status quo
- Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Ability to engage and influence multiple internal and external stakeholders on a local and global level.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity.
- Ability to understand and navigate the political dimensions of multi-stakeholder environments
- High level of drive and resilience
