- Assist with the monthly financial close by preparing account reconciliations, submitting journal entries, and working cross functionally with other internal stakeholders to obtain relevant information.
- Advanced understanding of accounting principles, ability to understand impact of payroll activity on financial statements and ability to analyze, explain P&L and Balance Sheet variances.
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations ensuring the completeness and accuracy of applicable ledger accounts.
- Answer accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting data.
- Assist in year-end audits and manage ad-hoc inquiries from external auditors.
- Manage the posting of the bi-weekly payroll journals.
- Reconciliation of the Salary data to the GL.
- Explanation of Salary and Benefit related month over month variances.
- Accounting for and reconciliation of the various benefit plans:
- Life Insurance
- Medical
- Dental
- Vision
- HSA
- FSA
- Transit
- Become a back up to Payroll Manger and assist in payroll processing.
- Demonstrate advanced expertise in Excel utilizing Pivot, VLOOKUPs and Functions for comprehensive reporting.
- Provide support during payroll audits.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with HR and Finance to implement new processes and improve on existing processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related degree
- Minimum 6 years' of experience in accounting, GL accounting software
- Minimum 6 years’ of experience with payroll systems
- Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control and payroll taxes.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- High Proficiency using Excel.
- Preferred knowledge in Workday Payroll System.
- Preferred knowledge in Deltek VantagePoint.
