- Assumes accountability for managing delivery of care and patient safety.
- Prepares patient for procedures providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.
- Assesses / Screens patient for potential risk factors. Documents patient history and pertinent information.
- Ensures proper identification of patient.
- Clarifies / follows Doctor’s orders and scans needed information in PACS.
- Completes work within an acceptable time frame.
- Produces quality diagnostic images for interpretation.
- Maintains MRI room cleanliness after exam and procedure. Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care.
- Prioritizes and organizes work assignments and adjusts priorities based on changing situations.
- Consults and communicates with other departments in a professional manner.
- Demonstrates understanding of safety, health and morale needs of customers and co-workers. Exercises proper precautions to ensure safety of patients, general public, staff and self while performing duties.
- Ensures equipment is in acceptable condition by conducting routine quality control checks.
- Verifies lab values for contrast when necessary and obtains necessary patient consent for IV contrast. Prepares and assists in the administration of contrast materials.
- Performs MR examinations requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning, human physiology, MR protocols and equipment so that selection and modification of technical factors may produce optimum results.
- Pushing and pulling, taking frequency and weight into consideration.
- Physical strength to lift heavy objects, carts, or items, taking frequency and weight into consideration.
- Physical mobility, which includes movement from place to place on the job, taking distance and speed into account.
- Physical agility, which includes ability to maneuver body while in place.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers.
- Balance is maintained during climbing, bending and/or reaching
- Endurance (e.g. continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending, walking).
- High School Graduate, GED, or Diploma from a Vocational/Technical school required.
- BLS certification required.
- 0 – 1 year’s experience required. 2-4 years experience preferred.
- ARRT and OBMI Licenses/Certification required.
- MRI certification preferred.
- IV certificate preferred.
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Experience with power injectors and storage devices preferred.
- Experience with Standard Office Equipment (Phone, Fax, Copy Machine, Scanner, Email/Voice Mail) preferred.
