POSITION TITLE: MAINTENANCE CLERKACCOUNTABLE TO: Maintenance CoordinatorPRIMARY OBJECTIVETo provide support in maintaining clean and safe store conditionsNATURE AND SCOPEEmphasis in this position is ensuring safe and clean store conditions, mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, and pulling cardboard. Primary learning challenge is proper use of equipment and product location for customer interaction. This position requires ongoing heavy lifting and pushing, walking, use of cleaning equipment, exposure to outside conditions and wet surfaces, social skills/verbal interaction, and judgement/decision making. Position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs. Assignments and work directions are provided by Maintenance Coordinator or person in charge.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS1. Ensures that carts are available for customers· Collects carts in a safe manner and transports to the cart room.· Ensures a ten cart maximum and proper use of cart rope.· Removes all debris form carts· Maintains all carts, performs minor repairs.Functional RequirementsFrequent: Physical: - Lifting/carrying 50 to 100lbs., pushing/pulling 50 to 500 lbs., equipment operation (carts, cart rope), stooping/bending, reaching, walking, turning; Mental - Judgement/decision making.Occasional: Physical – Standing, walking on uneven groundMental – Social skills/verbal interaction2. Maintains proper floor conditions· Maintains a clean and dry sales floor at all times.· Answers all clean up calls promptly· Cleans up messes and spills promptly and thoroughly.Functional RequirementsFrequent: Physical – Lifting/carrying 2 to 10 lbs., pushing/pulling 1 to 5lbs., equipment operation (mop, broom, dust pan, dust mop, scraper, scrubber), walking, reaching, stooping/bending.Occasional: Physical – Squatting, kneeling; Mental – Social skills/verbal interaction.3. Maintains proper shelf presentation and accessibility for stock by removing unnecessary cardboard.· Removes empty/nearly empty product boxes off shelves and condenses shelf stock.· Breaks cardboard down and collects in bin.· Disposes of cardboard properly· Performs shop back duties.Functional RequirementsFrequent: Physical: - Lifting/carrying 10 to 20 lbs., pushing/pulling 100 to 350lbs., equipment operation (bins, tilt trucks), walking, standing, reaching, stooping/bending, kneeling, turning, squatting; Mental - Reading4. Removes and disposes of trash.· Collects trash from inside and outside the store.· Transports collected trash in bins to compactor and disposes of properlyFunctional RequirementsFrequent: Physical – Lifting/carrying 10 to 75lbs., pushing/pulling 100 to 650 lbs., equipment operation (bags, tilt truck, compactor), reaching, stooping/bending. Mental – Judgement/decision making; Environmental – Exposure to outside conditions.Occasional: Physical – Pushing/pulling 650 to 1000 lbs.5. Assist customers with questions or requests· Answer questions and assist customers with product location.· Refer customers to the proper area or individual for help.· Assists customers with bagging and carrying out groceriesFunctional RequirementsFrequent: Mental – Social skills/verbal interaction, reading, writing.Occasional: Physical – Lifting/carrying 20 to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling 75 to 300 lbs., walking.6. Utilizes personal protective devices (chemical resistant gloves, safety glasses/goggles, rubber over boots, chemical splash goggles) as instructed.7. Follows all store and department policies and procedures.Functional RequirementsFrequent: Mental – Judgement/decision making, memorization.ADDITIONAL POSITION FUNCTIONS8.
