Account Managers develop and increase profitable volume with existing and newly acquired customers. Account Managers will assist the General Manager with coaching and will provide direction for the Account Representatives. This position requires a great deal of independent thought, organization, analytic skills and strong communication. If this is you, or you like a challenge– let’s talk.You will:Develop and increase profitable volume with existing and newly acquired customersUse strong relationships to understand customer’s business in order to provide solutionsCoordinate bidding off contract with value-added serviceProvide exceptional customer service internally and externallyConduct business reviews with all existing accountsProspect for new shippersLeverage all modes and services in the sales processHave specific knowledge regarding product compatibility and shipping requirements for dry loads and temperature requirements and maintenance when handling refrigerated loads.Determine optimal loading and delivery patterns and times using their own creativity in order to minimize time and miles traveled with regards to the customer, advising if a load is manageable.Update active load information into system for shipper and carrier trackingBuild loadsUpdate/check callsSchedule pickup and delivery appointmentsGeneral office dutiesCommunicate with brokers regarding any discrepancies found on bill of lading (i.e. shortages, damages) prior to settlementContact carriers to obtain delinquent proof of deliveriesBalance files, complete file settlement and forward paperwork to corporate accounting for paymentProcess carrier and third-party invoicesWork with carriers and factoring companies to resolve carrier A/P issuesHandle all calls regarding accounts receivableRun receivables report weekly and check for invoicing errors, adjustments and overdue freight invoices.Start collections process as directedWork with operations employee(s) to resolve any problems or disputesSkills and ExperienceSelf-motivated, enthusiastic team player who excels in a fast-paced environmentExperience in Freight Brokerage/customer service is a plusExcellent and effective communication skillsStrong customer service orientation and excellent work ethicAbility to quickly process information and make decisionsEffective negotiation and problem-solving skills, and ability to handle conflictExcellent time-management skills with the ability to multitaskHighly organized and detail-orientedAbility to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentJoin us in making a difference!
