A3 Technology, Inc. is seeking a junior level Technical Specialist to support the implementation of STARS/CARTS deployment team at the WJHTC and other FAA Air Traffic Control facilities in support of, but not limited to, the following projects: Main Display Monitor, RAID, GI-G4, TAMR3, etc.Essential Job Functions:
  • Configure, maintain and troubleshoot: Windows Servers, Linux Servers, ISS, FTP, SFTP, WSUS servers and physical servers.
  • ESXi software installation on Cisco Servers.
  • VMware vCenter Appliance, Platform Services Controller (If applicable) and apply ESXi Host patches.
  • Clustered Cisco Servers & and IMCs.
  • Raritan KVM appliances.
  • Commvault CommCell software, monitor backup jobs, export jobs and tape library health status.
  • New hardware upgrades to ensure proper integration without causing impact to production systems.
  • Administrate patches on McAfee EPO agents and hosts.
  • Install, configure and maintain domain accounts, group policy, DNS, backups and replication.
  • Develop, test and document processes and procedures on the SVN repository.
  • Maintain documentation of system baseline to reflect current state of system.
  • Inventory of blank storage tapes on 3PAR tape library, swap out full tapes to be stored at Iron Mountain facility.
  • Cleanliness of system racks, ensure cables running in and out of rack are properly labeled.
  • Troubleshoot and administer patching of 3PAR SAN and Nimble SAN Storage Arrays.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot brocade fiber switch ports, fiber connectivity to other hardware and monitor SFP adapter health.
  • Create support tickets with hardware/software vendors for further troubleshooting and/or hardware replacement.
  • Utilize JIRA tickets for logging purposes when working on the system.
  • Interface with NCO and Security Team with respect to POAMs and security bulletins that may or may not impact the system and take remedial action as required to mitigate system vulnerabilities.
  • Attend weekly meetings with Program Managers and provide weekly reports of current tasks, upcoming and ongoing tasks.
  • Interface with IESP software leads when performing major changes to the infrastructure system.
  • The support for this task shall include the following:
  • Travel to Operational FAA Terminal Air Traffic Control facilities.
  • Support Deployment leads at site facilities.
  • Work independent of FAA Supervision in a team environment.
  • Perform removal and/or installation of software or other equipment at Operational STARS/CARTS facilities in support of Terminal Field Operational Support organization CARTS, STARS and/or TAMR3 initiatives.
  • Help generate trip reports from deployment leads.
  • Collect data from the deployment sites.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience in a variety of basic computer skills and the ability to learn tasks related to FAA Tech Ops/ATC functions, basic networking skills (how routers/switches/hubs work together).
  • Ability to understand the high-level architecture of STARS (Standard Terminal Automation Replacement Systems) and CARTS (Common Automated Radar Terminal Systems).
  • Basic understanding of electronic component installation and wiring.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Scheduling/organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to learn complex software systems, mainframe and microcomputer programming including a variety of application and operating system software packages.
  • US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is required.
  • Upon conditional offer of employment candidates will be subject to a Government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain Government clearance.
  • Verification of past employment, verification of education and references are also required.
Education:
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of relevant experience OR
  • Associate degree in a related field and 1 year of relevant experience.
