Permanent Status with the City of New Orleans as a City Planner and one (1) year of experience in that classification.(Original Entrance)
EITHER: Master's Degree in Urban or Regional Planning, Architecture, Urban Studies, Landscape Architecture, Public Policy, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Water Resource Engineering, Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering closely related field* and one (1) year of full-time professional planning experience.OR: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university* and three (3) years of full-time professional planning experience.NOTE: The Civil Service Department reserves the right to determine the extent of relatedness of the degree.NOTE: Selective certification according to the area of specialization (City Planning, Design Review, Environmental, Storm Water, Housing, Community Development, Transportation, Parking, or GIS) may be permitted upon the request of the department.
