- Reviews simulator engineering specifications, malfunction documents, flight test requirements, flight test and aircraft data.
- Design and test aircraft simulator sound software applications, C/C++,
- Perform 1/3 octave and narrow-band analysis of aircraft recordings for implementation in the software applications.
- Create and maintain software and hardware documentation.
- Create and maintain 1/3 octave tests and perform tuning of the sound simulation to tolerances required by NSB (FAA/EASA/JAA, etc).
- Provide on-site support of the simulator installation and certification efforts.
- Works with engineering colleagues, project engineers, and others to achieve a smoothly integrated system.
- Accountable for the control and distribution of documents and/or equipment subject to export control restrictions and the security of FSI materials, projects and business information regarding the methods and techniques used in the production and usage of FSI products.
- Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.
- Able to adhere to a work schedule including prompt and regular attendance.
- To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Presents the simulator performance and handling characteristics to the customer and corrects deficiencies identified by the customer. This may include working at customer facilities.
- Anticipate travel of 25%.
- C/C++ programming skills required.
- Must be able to develop and implement new software designs using Microsoft Visual Studio or similar development environment.
- Previous experience in flight simulation software and/or the use of audio rendering software such as Microsoft DirectSound is a plus but is not required for new applicants
- Basic AC and DC Electronics, Analog and Digital Circuit theory
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as algebra, calculus, and physics as applies to sound.
- Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
