To utilize a variety of materials including, but not limited to wood, concrete, plaster, tile, brick, metal, and glass.Education & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification preferred. Three (3) years of related experience, healthcare experience preferred.Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: Valid driver's license required.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair buildings and structures. Skills in installing, repairing, and selecting the appropriate equipment necessary to complete the job. Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read blueprints correctly. Ability to comply with safety and environmental guidelines.Responsibilities
  • Performs skilled carpentry by following instructions, rough sketches, or detailed drawings in the construction, repair, maintenance, and alteration of buildings, doors, door closures, partitions, and related fixtures.
  • Repairs and maintains parts of buildings to include floors, walls, ceilings, screens, windows, sashes, doors, and furniture.
  • Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines, or power saw. Sands, paints, or stains desks, chairs and other wooden articles.
  • Accomplishes a variety of finishing work. Assembles and fastens materials to make framework or props using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue. Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repairs or replaces.
  • Builds rough wooden structures such as barricades, boxes, scaffolds, and wooden frameworks.
  • Operates power equipment such as saws, jointers, lathes, sanders, planers, and boring and motising machines. Maintains a clean work environment and complies with established safety and environmental guidelines and regulations.
  • Completes and documents work performed in a timely manner and maintains quality standards.
  • Compliant with accrediting and licensing organizations.
