Job TitleCost Accountant IIRequisition NumberSHB-6685Location CityMaryvilleLocation StateTennesseeFT / PTFull-timeShift Schedule1st shift: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (M-F)DescriptionCost Accountant IIPerforms accounting functions consisting of inventory and labor hour maintenance and month end close responsibilities.Schedule: In-office/non-remote in Maryville, TN, Monday-Friday.Travel: This position will require 3 weeks of travel during the first 4 weeks of employment for training.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:· Supports monthly close process.· Prepares monthly inventory and COGS journal entries.· Prepare monthly reconciliations of inventory accounts.· Prepares and distributes monthly reports to operations.· Assists in the management of the standard cost system, including changes to routings and bills of materials.· Review and analyzes monthly material price variances, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.· Partners with key internal customers (i.e. operations) to ensure accurate and meaningful reporting and analysis.· Participates in physical inventories as required by the business.NOTE: This list presents only the principal duties of the position and is not intended to be comprehensive.   • Good command of the English language in both verbal and written skills
  • Self-motivated, independent and proactive worker with a high level of organization, professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Work experience in a manufacturing work environment.
  • Advanced Excel formula and modeling skills required.
  • Experience with queries a plus.
  • Solid communication and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity and willingness to work in a deadline-oriented, fast paced environment.
  • Continuous: sitting
  • Occasional: walking, standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, fine and gross upper body motor movement.
  • Extended time in sitting position, prolong use of computer and possible eye strain.

  • Travel for training and physical inventories required.

Work environment is similar to most manufacturing operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:
  • Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor
The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
