You will shoot and edit video, using a cinema camera, of news, sports, and special features displaying awareness of the elements of good photojournalism. Produces videos for television, station websites, and social media. Works creatively with all reporters and producers to package highly produced news stories for broadcast.Job Responsibilities:
  • Produce elite stories for broadcast and all digital platforms, displaying awareness of the elements of good photojournalism. Employ keen lighting skills, excellent audio, and an eye for creative video.
  • Apply editing skills for stories. Organize video for broadcasting and all digital platforms. Avoid potential technical problems. Work with other departments to ensure smooth presentation.
  • Ability and willingness to operate a jib, sliders, gimbals, and any other specialty equipment needed to create highly produced content with news magazine level production quality.
  • Willingness to obtain a FAA Part 107 drone license, Operate the station drone to capture high quality and creative video. Understanding and ability to adhere to all FAA drone laws and rules.
  • Stay in contact with Executive Producer of Special Projects throughout shift. Coordinate with Executive Producer of Special Projects, Special Projects Producer, and Reporter; communicate ideas for specific story assignments.
  • Maintain awareness of current events, technology, and terminology.
  • Organizes video for news broadcasts.
  • Maintain the special projects media drive and manage the deletion process to ensure viable storage for future assignments.
  • Maintains operational status of assigned equipment.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including driving automobile for company business.
Job Schedule: This is a full-time position primarily working Monday through Friday 9:00am-6:00pm. Must be available for events and projects outside of the regular hours and remain flexible to schedule changes due to spot news, holidays, vacations, sick leave, and other news events.QualificationsEssential Qualities:

Skills and Requirements:
  • Minimum two years college or trade school with emphasis on Radio/TV or Journalism. Related experience will be evaluated by Company management and may be substituted on the basis of two year of experience equals one year of education.
  • Minimum five years news photography experience at a network affiliate. Experience with cinema camera preferred.
  • Must be able to operate all editing and recording equipment. Knowledge of Avid non-linear editing preferred. This position also requires knowledge of Adobe Premier and Photoshop.
  • Willingness to adapt to ever changing technology and an evolving newsroom.
  • Ability to work well with others and a willingness to help others when the need arises in all aspects of newsgathering.
  • Ability to work with a reporter or alone in the field to capture the story under tight deadlines.
  • Creative and passionate storyteller with an understanding of the National Press Photographers Association philosophies and practices.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Oklahoma driver's license and have a driving record acceptable to the company.
