Job SummaryWe are seeking a Medical Coder and Biller to join our Primary Care team. In this role, you will transcribe patient records and process claims for reimbursements. You will be responsible for selecting the correct codes and functions to be assigned to each instance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented with strong people skills and computer skills.Responsibilities
  • They will be responsible for utilizing our billing software systems to prepare, submit, and review claims.
  • The Medical Billing Specialists will collaborate with insurance representatives to resolve patient billing errors, review billings for accuracy, and maintain up-to-date Accounts Receivable records.
  • The Medical Billing Specialists must be well-versed in ICD-10, CPT coding, and Medicaid.
  • Medical Billing Specialists will pull remittances, maintain work denials, produce patient billing statements, process appeals, resolve payer issues, and consistently adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • These individuals will have excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills and demonstrate discretion and tact when handling sensitive patient information.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a Medical Coder, Biller, or in a similar position
  • Familiar with coding software and other computer programs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and able to problem-solve
  • Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines.
  • Minimum 4 years of Primary Care Billing/Coding is a must
  • Certified Medical Coder or Biller is preferred
