- Work with the Procurement and/or Category Manager in AbbVie to optimize related areas of spend for sourcing and procurement activities in the Indirect Spend Categories.
- Responsible for sourcing, bidding, negotiating, contracting and procurement of services in the spend category supported.
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to identify short term and long term cost reduction opportunities established by management
- Lead role in developing supplier base to expand business, improve financials, reduce in-house / total costs, improve quality (customer satisfaction), customer relations, and on-time deliveries. Identify potential vendors in alignment with respective Category Manager and preferred supplier network (PSN)
- Aligned with direction from Procurement Manager and respective Category Manager to drive competitive bidding processes, evaluate proposals, and select suppliers based on a comprehensive evaluation of cost, quality, reliability, and performance
- Lead contract negotiations, focusing on achieving optimal terms and conditions, pricing, while minimizing risk to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Identify areas to improve supplier service levels by integrating agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Review with business stakeholders and drive improvements forward
- Perform and collect due diligence information required for evaluating and approving new suppliers, in line with the Preferred Supplier Networks. Making recommendations to improve / enhance PSN
- Data analysis for purchasing projects and supplier management (supplier metrics and research, master data, market basket analysis, pricing analysis, monthly/quarterly reporting of KPI's, savings reporting)
- Monitor and manage supplier contracts, including renewals, amendments, and terminations, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Works with high ethical standard, in compliance with the law and the AbbVie policies and procedures
- The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of procurement/negotiations experience in purchasing preferably but not limited to Pharmaceutical.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
- Strong experience with writing request for proposal/information (RFP/RFI)'s.
- Proficient in contract negotiation and execution process. Must be detailed and results-oriented in analyzing, negotiating, and executing contract with supplier..
- Bachelor's degree or 4 years equivalent work experience
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. •
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement processes as well as knowledge of indirect Services category
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction.
- The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
